Yesterday in the mail, I received this little goodie in the mail:
For those of you who have never seen it...most of you I'd guess, it's a book of restaurants in West Los Angeles, whose food gets delivered by LAbite. Good restaurants: Cheesecake Factory, CPK, ChinChins....oh how I miss you ChinChins. LAbite is a service that you call into and order, they call the restaurant, pick it up and deliver it. To your house. In generally 45 minutes to an hour. To your house. Without you having to go out, or make dinner. Or take rowdy, grouchy, whiny toddlers out in public at night. Delivery. *sob*
Do you see the problem though? I haven't lived in LA for two years. I have lived in Denver for two years, where the best you can get is pizza delivery.
I miss LAbite. We used to order from them 3-4 nights a week. Yes, we had problems. That is a whole other post. It was one of the things I missed within the first week of living here. You mean I can't have food delivered? From good restaurants? Any day of the week? Did we move to Mongolia? You are telling me that I have to like buy food and cook and crap? Sheet.
Yesterday I got this in the mail. Is it a sign? Some freaking joke from the food snobs of the world? Two years and I am used to living here. Two years and I have finally stopped crying for LA. Two years and I no longer throw it in my husbands face that he made me move, each time we argue. But I'd kill for LAbite to come here. It's sitting her mocking me. Dam mail. This is why I never get the mail. Because it mocks me.
*This post is not paid for by LAbite. I am just a person who loved never having to cook. A person who still never cooks, but eats a ton more cereal now. The end.

And now for a little Monday random
DUDE! This weekend was insane. Pure insanity. I am so dang tired. I am not sure I planned this out very well. Going non-stop the weekend before that thing we aren't supposed to talk about that happens in Chicago this week, was possibly not smart. Oh well, I've never done things the smart way, why in the world should I start now? Don't answer that.
Lets just go with a little bit of random today, how's that?
-Camping sucks. I don't like it. I did it on Friday night and we all nearly froze to death. I don't like the wild. No sir.
-Driving in the car for three hours each way, with four kids between the ages of 4 and 8 is not all that enjoyable. They try and out talk each other. They have no sense of inside voices. And they have to pee often. In fact my BFF's son is now known as, Pees-a-Lot.
-Tubing rocks. Seriously. There were about 18 of us and we went tubing down the Yampa on Saturday. I'm sore, bruised and sunburned, but I had a blast. The kids loved it. The adults loved it. It's definitely on the list for next year. We loved it so much that we went twice in one day. We didn't end up getting off the river until nearly 6pm.
-We bought tubes, which was dumb, but it was way cheaper. However we had to drive most people to where we were getting into the river and then go back and pick up the tubes. Most of them didn't fit, so we were the crazy people, driving through the town of Steamboat Springs, holding tubes out the window as we drove. Yes, even the drivers. Funny enough we got stopped by a cop on a bicycle but he didn't seem too phased. Just wanted to know how far we were going with them.
-McDonald's people in Steamboat Springs are INSANE. They won't give you your cups until they give you your food. Really? You want all 18 of us standing here in the way? Oh I guess so. Okay fine. Also, they only give you one sauce for chicken nuggets, even if you have a ten piece. My husband being ornery, said well I need more, how much are they? The woman told him 25 cents and he said, okay then, I'll take three dollars worth. She says, um sir, that is an excessive amount of sauce, why do you need that many. He says, that is my own business. Then he makes her count out all of them and he makes a big show of re-counting them. He uses two of them and then hands them out to random strangers in her line before we left. Fun times my friends, fun times.
-Five dollar foot longs at Subway, doesn't exist in a small mountain towns.
-My baby girl is five and it's sad. However, five so far isn't any different than four. Which is surprisingly nice. She had an amazing birthday.
-I dropped my Crackberry at McDonald's on Saturday. It bounced, the ball thingy popped out and then it fell into a spilled coke of the ground. Yeah, the thing is dead. Very, very dead. Just what I wanted to do the week of that one thing in Chicago; replace a year old phone. I went back and forth of the Crackberry/iPhone debate and in the end decided that I'd get a new Crackberry Curve. Mostly because I super heart BB messenger. However in all the dying of the phone and such, I realized I lost most of my numbers, because who in the world bothers to save them on the SIM card? Okay maybe a lot of people do, but not me. Lesson learned. If I had your phone number/BB PIN number, I don't now. Please email it to me. Purty please?
-I just read this over at The Spohrs are Multplying and I am thrilled for Heather and Mike. Also sad for them, because I know this is possibly too soon and more that likely very bitter sweet. But still YAY!!!! I adore you both and I'll be thinking good thoughts your way for baby Binky.

Not even sure why I'm bothering
You guys are awesome. I just want to tell you all how appreciative I am of your comments in my post below. I am still thinking about what changes I want to make on this site, but I know I need to tread lightly.
I am in a no major decisions mode in the moment. Basically my decision making skills are crap right now, because I'm just not doing that great, so I'm not thinking that clearly. I'm going to wait until after the end of July and then, most likely this site is going to get a major overhaul. Until then, well I guess I'll ignore it all. Or try at least.
And that's all I've got today. I just wanted to say thank you. You all helped me to think about what I do want to do with this site eventually. Or at least you got the ball rolling in my head.

A little bit of random...but hey, that's what I'm best at
It's been brought to my attention, that I am a bit odd. Shocker, I know. This was not news to those who know me and not really even to me, but I did find it kind of funny how it came up.
I guess not everyone reads the last page of a book before reading the actual book? Or needs to have a movie ruined for them if it is sad or scary, before turning it on? No? I'm not the only one though, right? You guys have to know someone else who does this? Hmmm, maybe I am alone in this. It's something that I've done for so long, that I forgot how weird it might sound to someone else. I found myself explaining it yesterday to a friend and the best I can come up with is that it's an anxiety thing. If I know the ending, I can enjoy it. If not, I fret through the whole thing. Weird? Yes, I will admit that. But it works for me.
Next week, we are going to Disneyland for a few days. Some cousins are going and I decided the second I heard about it, that I was going to go. A lovely brother of mine, who has now been written out of my will (ha, I've always wanted to say that), asked me how in the hell someone as neurotic and anal as me, could just plan vacations like that.
Really it's a logical question, but I am not that logical of a person. Trust me on this one. I can't really explain it, other than, I have been planning how to do this trip, since I decided to go. I am just crazy like that. It's part of my charm. It might seem last minute and really, it is, but I've already mentally packed us. I know where we'll go, how we'll get there and basically have an organized list in my head of the entire trip. Exciting, no? Don't answer that.
In other news, today is the last day of school for the summer. Can you hear my sigh from where you are? In some ways, I am so happy for school to be over. However, I don't have any preconceived notions that it will be an easy. The girls have a love/hate relationship. Either they adore each other and play amazingly well, or they are a nightmare. It can change on a whim. Hopefully the kid sharing scheme my BFF and I came up with will work out well.
Bailey is a bit nervous about Kindergarten. She hasn't slept well in the last few days; having nightmares and crawling into bed with us at some ungodly hour of the morning. I think it's our fault, we may have talked up being a kindergartner a bit too much. She isn't my anxious kid, not normally at least and we tend to forget that she is still a little tiny thing. I am a bit sad about having her no longer being a pre-schooler. I also know, that she is so ready for kindergarten and she'll do phenomenal. Muh babee is getting big though. sigh.
That's all I've got today, I guess. It's going to take me a bit of time to remember how to do this again. It's been so long for me, that I'm kind of like, wait how in the world do I do this again. I'll get there, I promise.

I believe
I believe that coffee and donuts in the morning start out a day right.
I believe that you can have bff's in real life and bff's in Internet life and they are equally as important. (Even though my husband thinks you are all made up.)
I believe in eye rolling, heavy sighs and sticking your tongue out at people who deserve it. Although sometimes I want to smack my children for this.
I believe that music, sports and art should be requirements in every school.
I believe that teachers and therapists should make more money than sports players.
I believe that reading can take you anywhere and every child should learn to read.
I believe that video games, movies and TV have their place and it's cruel to never ever let your child have these things.
I believe that however you create your family and whomever you choose to have in it, is your choice and it should be honored as a real family.
I believe in adoption. I believe that a child adopted, is someones real child.
I believe in the healing power of ice cream.
I believe that flossing your teeth is beneficial, but I'm still likely to never do it.
I believe laughter is the best medicine.
I believe in bubble baths, date nights, pedicures, family game night and wine and cupcakes with the Internets night.
I believe music helps the soul.
I believe that a lot more people like country music than say they do.
I believe that people who bring toddlers to a PG-13 movie at 8pm on a Friday night should be taken out back and beaten.
I believe that everyone should see as much of the world as possible. Also the US, if you live here. (Then maybe we'd all ahem me not say things on Twitter like: "okay might be dumb, but Chicago is the east coast right? Anything past Ohio is in my head." Not realizing that you will then be sent a picture of a map of the US. Funny enough I've actually been to Ohio. To me, it's still the east coast. Ha. Gotta love the Los Angeles mind set that everything past the LA county line is the east coast.)
I believe every child deserves a good education.
I believe that this community rocks. Completely. For the support you all gave my guest poster yesterday and for all you give too me. For the continued support for Heather and Mike. For the love I've seen directed at Maddie Moo. For the support everyone gives each other on Twitter everyday. I adore this community.

Mother’s Day and a few random announcements
To my mom, the woman who carried me inside of her for 38.5 weeks. The woman who laid in bed for the last 3 months of that time, hoping beyond hope, that she and I would make it through okay. The woman who nearly died having me. The woman who didn't know for 29 hours if I was even alive. The woman who spent the first two months of my life laying on a couch with me on her chest trying to get better. The woman who raised me, played with me, never took crap from me, who loved me every day and every night. The woman who taught me how to be a woman and a mother. My friend, my mom. Happy Mothers Day Mama, I love you.
To my babies, all three of you crazies, for making me the mother I am today. I adore you.
To my husband for giving me the three crazies. You have my whole heart.
To all of you, those who are mothers, those who have mothers and those who help mother the rest of us anyway, happy mother's day.
In the next few weeks, I'm going to have some guest posters. I need the freedom to not write when I can't, and to write only when I am ready. I've asked some amazingly lovely friends of mine to help me out. It doesn't mean I won't post at all, but I need to know that it's okay if I don't. I need time. Time to process, time to heal, time to grieve. Time to just be. Please know I'm still here, reading, tweeting.....I'm just needing a break from posting.
I found an old file, posts I had written before, on my previous blog. I might share a few in the next few weeks. I'll put the date on them, so you know they were previously written. Some of you knew me then, so you might recognize them.
Below is the first one. I thought it seemed like a good thing to share, seeing how tomorrow is Mother's Day. Obviously my girls were a lot younger then.
You know you are a parent when...
You buy the Princess and Spiderman Fruit Snacks instead of the organic real fruit infused with a cup of beet juice snacks, even though they are supposedly healthier, for three reasons. One, you know it is a lie, they are all full of sugar. Two, sugar never killed anyone. Three, it makes your kids smile and happy for at least three minutes.
You have Cheerios and Goldfish in your cabinets at all times. You also find random Cheerios and Goldfish under couch cushions and under your car seats at all times.
You drop a dry erase marker in a client meeting and say "uh oh", without even thinking.
You smile a bit and gently laugh at the woman who said "uh oh" in the meeting.
You give your last piece of spicy tuna roll that was on the way to your mouth to your two year old when she says, "Mama, I hab it, purty please", without a second thought. (Even if not eating that piece does make you want sushi for two more days, until you break down and buy more sushi.)
You find yourself dancing in odd places, like the grocery store or the elevator just because you like the song. When you realize where you are, you don't stop, because you're a parent and what the hell do you care what strangers think?
You go into a toy store or go online to start your birthday/Christmas shopping and while you do think to yourself, will she/he like it, you also ask yourself it it is loud enough to give you a migraine and will it hurt if I step on it at 2am in the dark?
You buy things that give you migraines and hurt your feet at 2am, because you know they will love it.
You get up in the middle of the night when you hear your child cry out even though you just want to say snuggled in you nice warm bed.
You watch The Incredibles, the Muppet's Show and the Magic School Bus over and over again until you know the entire dialog, but you don't make them quit watching it.
You take dozens of pictures, just hoping one of them will capture the magic of the moment. You also take pictures to remember how little they were once.
You read The Monster at the End of This Book, Goodnight Moon and Blueberries for Sal each and every night to your toddler, because they love those books and only those books, even though you'd secretly love to toss those books in the ocean or poke your eyeballs out before you will ever want to read them again.
You go into the kitchen at work and grab a bottle of water and before you take a drink, you write your name on it, so you know, there are no fights.
You look at teenagers and think they are such babies and wonder what your kids will be like at that age instead of remembering how cool you were back then.
You tell random people with newborns in stores to enjoy it while they can, because they won't stay that tiny and huggable for long.

I joined The Facebook
Yes, I always call it The Facebook in my head. I am not sure what I think of it, nor am I sure I needed one more thing to try and keep up with. But either way, I am now on it. If I know you and you want to find me, my uh...name is Issa Road. The darn thing wouldn't let me use Crazy or World as my last name, so I looked around, saw my book club book on the table (Revolutionary Road....which sady might be the only thing it will prove to be good for) and decided Road was as good a name as any. Do me a favor though, if you send me a friend request and I'd have no idea who you were by your name, send me an email and let me know, okay? Because I am very interested in staying private, I'm not willing to friend every single spammy person who happens to ask. Truly, I've already had two of those today. Unless they are one of you and I couldn't place you.
Besides that, I am just kinda here today. Not here as in online, but here as in here. I'm having a little trouble with my asthma today and spent a while in Urgent Care this afternoon. I'm all right, I'm just feeling like I got hit by a mack truck. Also, I've now started steroids, which I'd managed to avoid for oh a whole six weeks. Eh, life, what can you do? The alternative isn't so lovely, so I do this.
And now Blogger is being an asshat. I'm going to save this, before it deletes itself. There is still time to give me a tagline. Come on now, you know you've got one.

Random thoughts, the Issa needs some sleep edition
-Seriously I do. Need sleep. Like four days worth of sleep. I haven't slept well in at least a week. Well, being my normal, not a good sleeper well. But it's bad right now. I have been going to bed late, laying there for hours and then being woken up early, by the most chewable baby in the world. He is forgiven for his early waking time schedule, because honestly he sleeps so well that I can't complain. Also, see the chewable thing above.
-Last night was the first Insta-Mom book club meeting. We read Revolutionary Road. You know the one they just made a movie out of? With Leo and Kate? As I was told last night, they weren't on a sinking boat. There were no icebergs. Which I would have known, had I read more than 25 pages of the book. I've never been a part of a real book club, but this one rocks. There is room for more of you, anyone can join. I am pretty sure the most we talked about books, in the two and a half hour chat, was when we were suggesting books for next time. My vote of the Ya-Ya's was shot down. Which makes sense, seeing how I only suggested it because I had already read the book and seen the movie. Like I said, anyone can join in...reading the book isn't mandatory.
-I won an award. See, isn't it pretty?
Kari at I left my Heart at Preschool gave it too me. Last week maybe? I am bad at memes, I rarely do them. But for Kari, I will. It's the honest scrap award. The word scrap is probably more applicable these days than honest, but I'll give it a go. I'm supposed to list ten honest things about me and then pass it on.
1. I only eat bananas if they are still green at the top. Any brown spot makes me gag. I throw away more bananas than is right.
2. I despise the words, popular bloggers. Even more than that, I despise the meaning behind it. A blogger is still a blogger, still a person, no matter how many followers they have.
3. I don't like drinks without ice in them. Water, anything really, either needs to be ice cold or served with ice. I am that asshat that the french hate.
4. I don't know what I want to be when I grow up. But I am thinking I will figure it out one of these days.
5. I go through almost a full pack of gum a day. I chew it for about five minutes and then throw it out. The thought of my breath smelling, freaks me out.
6. I have a very, very great sense of smell. Other peoples breath freaks me out.
7. I have toooooo many people in my Google reader. I can not keep up. I can't delete people, because it hurts me to do that, so a lot of times, I read every third post of someones. I feel bad about this, but it's the best I can do.
8. I am very clumsy. I hit walls, kick chairs and slam my hand in doors ever single day. Luckily, I don't bruise easily or people would wonder about my husband.
9. Coming back to blogging was the best decision I could have made.
10. Sometimes I take pictures of my kids, because I really like the outfit they have on.
I'm not so good at the passing it on part of memes. Just know, I think you all are awesome. But I'm giving this one to Stacey at Anymommy, partly because she is an honest writer, but mostly because I want to be just like her when I grow up.

Random thoughts, the Vegas edition
- Krispy Kreme donuts are awesome.
- All five us in one room, was really not that fun. We all need more space than that. Plus, all of them snore.
- Issa did not sleep the entire trip.
- Saki and beer are not a good combination. Just in case you were wondering.
- Issa is a lightweight drinker, just in case you were wondering.
- If spinny is not a word, it is now, because that's what my room was like on Saturday night.
- No water, tons of caffeine, crying for days and too much alcohol make Issa a hung over grouchy individual. That was on Sunday morning and today, I don't feel that much better.
- I've never been in a hotel in Vegas, where I could hear the people in the room next to me. This time though, I could. Lets just say, they had a lot of fun in the bathroom. Way too much fun in the bathroom.
- Going to Vegas with my children is a completely different experience. They thought it was so exciting. All combined, there were seven children, ages seven and under. The baby loved all the light and sounds, the kids loved the non-stop entertainment and sugar. I did things that I never would have done. M&M World was a big hit. A big thank you to the lovely Maura for the suggestion. If you ever get the chance, I highly recommend going. I mean, unless you for some strange reason don't like M&M's and then I'm not sure I can know you anymore. :)
- Wedding ceremonies in Vegas are fast. In my next life, this is the way I'll be getting married. No drama, no big deal. Just a quick ceremony and then cake. Oh wait, there wasn't cake. Now I see the flaw in my plan.
- Vacations planned last second cost butt loads of money.
- The last second vacation: is worth every single cent.
- I didn't gamble at all, although Logan lost every cent we had brought for it. Sunday morning, I handed him the baby, as we were checking out and I told him I wanted to play $20 in the Wheel of Fortune machine. Two pulls and I won. I won $300 over the amount of money, that this entire weekend had cost us. I won it all back; plane tickets, hotel room, food, snacks, shoes for my child, because I forget to pack her any and she was wearing snow boots, the swim suits we purchased, everything. I gave the $300 to Chris and Steph as a wedding present. I mean really, what do you give people who have been living together eight years, when they get married? Cash works.
That's all I've got in me today. The kids are at home. I really needed them to go to school today. Like, I really needed them to go to school today. All they've done since yesterday afternoon is argue with each other and with me.

They were not kidding
I've always heard from people that I needed to back up my computer. Back up my computer, back it up, back it up. I just never thought much of it. I mean, really? I have Mac's and Mac's are the shit.
Nerd boy (my friend, also sometimes called James) always tells me to back up everything. But he's a PC guy. I always tell him, dude Mac's don't get viruses. They are infallible. Mac's never die. Which is why you see people with these Mac's from the olden days. Like at least fifteen years old. LOL.
My dad has been telling me to get a back up for at least a year. Every time I talk to him, he brings it up. Have you made a back up yet? Well, nope. My dad is a Mac guy, but I've never been big on listening to him.
You can see where I'm going with this right? My computer hard drive is dead. Completely unfixable and just....well dead. I took it in last week, becausee I couldn't get it to turn on, which unfortunetly is a feature that I need in a computer. Nothing. It wasn't even willing to consider starting up. It wouldn't even try.
Two and a half years worth of documents, the half of the book I was writing, god onl knows how many CD's I had downloaded on iTunes. The worst is the pictures. I order pictures all the time, but I had over a years worth of pictures on there. Every single picture we've taken since Harrison was born, gone. All gone.
Luckily, we still had a warrently on the computer, so we'll get it back in a few days with a lovely new hard drive in it. Also, I have my trusty Laptop, which is how I can post today. This weekend, we went and bought a back up drive. Everything from the Laptop is now backed up. My advice to you all is back up everything. Think today about what is sitting on your hard drive. Pictures? Documents that you might want at some point? Taxes from the last three years? All important stuff, that I've lost for good. Seriously, don't wait. Go back up everything now.

Today is the day

Inauguration day. I am finding myself a bit speechless today. I feel like I'm seeing history in the making...and I am. We are. Today is history in the making. I feel a little bouncy and twirly, like Morgan always is.
I had so much I wanted to say about today, but I'm having trouble with the words. I never thought I'd see this in my lifetime; an African American in the White House. It's so much bigger than that, but this is so huge. 40 years ago, my Aunt couldn't marry her boyfriend in her county, because it was illegal. (Might have been in her state, I'm not sure, but she fought her county on it.) Because she was white and he was black. My uncle could go to war for this country, die for this country, but he couldn't marry the woman he loved because of the color of his skin. Today, a black man is going to be sworn in as our next President. It's just....I don't have the words. It's huge.
I never thought I'd see a man or woman in the White House, who I actually liked. (Clinton was okay, but I was a kid when he was elected. I didn't pay much attention to what he'd done, until it was too late.) A man who I believe has substance, intellect, responsibility, new ideas, and accountability. That last one, is huge for me. An honest man in the White House, what a concept. I am not clueless, I do not believe he is perfect, nor do I believe tomorrow the world will magically change. But I think he will help us move in the right direction.
Mostly though, I am dam excited. I wish I could be there. With my 2 million other Americans. Heck, I'd take being able to watch it on TV live. But no, I have to wait for my husband to come home. I am TIVO'ing it, while I am sitting at home. Logan owes me big time for this. Tonight, as a family, we will watch our new president be sworn in. We'll watch his speech and whatever else they are showing. I'll let my girls stay up and watch, even though it will run past their bedtime. Because today is a great day in America and I want them to be a part of it; to understand, to the best of their ability, that today is a special day. Today we welcome in our 44th President.
Welcome President Obama. I am so thrilled for you.

Feeling grateful
I am feeling the need to be grateful today. There are a few friends of mine who are going though some pretty horrible things and I just feel for them. My mom is sad because she misses my grandma. Lets not even talk about all the people losing their jobs left and right. So instead of really talking about any of that, I'd like to mention a few positive things today.
1. I am so grateful for that amazing, quick thinking pilot on flight 1549 yesterday. Because of his quick thinking, he managed to save over a hundred and fifty people. I was not shocked to hear that he had been with the Air Force. My grandpa was with the Air Force, and it made me smile. Today, I am grateful for Chesley B. "Sully" Sullenberger III, a true hero.
2. I have made the decision to stay at home. I feel a million times better not that I know I have made up my mind. What I'll do in a year or two, who knows. I'll worry about that then. In the moment, I'll enjoy squishing Harrison and picking up my girls from school every day.
3. In March, Logan and I will have been married 10 years. Every single day, I am grateful for him. Even when he tells me that we should go fishing for our anniversary.
PS. I wrote an article on Potty Training, that is going to be up at Alpha Mom today. Please if you have a moment, go and look at it. Thanks.

Breaking news
This post is brought to you by snow. Lots of snow. Lots and lots of snow.
Today is the official delurking day. Please go forth and comment. Because we are all comment whores who love....well comments. Spread the love. Say hello to someone who you always read and never comment too. Saying hello is enough.
The kids school is open today. I swear I tried to take them. Then I got stuck. In fact, my car is still stuck, about four blocks from my house. I couldn't do anything except leave my car and walk home with my kids. In the snow. Did I mention the snow? I called the school and told then that they really should have closed. They said it was going to be a light day, that people were calling in left and right. Which is great, but seriously, you people close for in-service days all the time, what's one snow day?
Either way, we are home. The kids are currently making some kind of a fort in the basement with about every blanket in the house.

Why must I always have a title?
I just got back from dropping one of my very favorite people off at the airport. I've had such a great weekend and I'm feeling kinda blah now. This, my friends, is what comes from having too much fun; from staying up way to late, getting up way to early (thanks son), drinking too much wine and talking so much that you are pretty sure you could just not speak for three days.
I have a lot of stories too tell. Not so much from this weekend, because that was mostly catching up. Those stories, you all have heard. No, more like stories from my childhood. I'm working on one right now, but I swore to my kids that we'd go ice skating this morning. They go back to school Wednesday, which is not a day too soon.
Until I get the chance to post again, I have a question for you all...do you laugh at people in your head who are so retarded in a coffee shop? You know the ones, the lady who says she wants a short coffee, when it's called a tall or small? The same woman who will repeat it six times, just so the guy hears it? (Like my four year old does, when I tell her no.) NO, I SAID THE SHORT COFFEE. Like he's deaf or something? Which of course he's not, he's just wanting to make sure he gets it right. Plus, he was holding up the dam cup.
Or the man who orders a medium soy macchiato with a shot of vanilla, no make that an extra pump of hazelnut, or maybe mocha. Maybe all three, that sounds great. Extra foam, but no whip cream and um, can you please make that a decaf? Really, what the heck are you drinking? Do you even know? If not, please leave, cause the thought of that is making me kinda sick.
The decaf coffee. This alone makes me giggle at people. If you are pregnant and drinking it, well you are a braver person than me. But decaf in general makes absolutly no sense too me. Why in the world would you bother?
Maybe it's just me. But it takes a lot out of me to not laugh at loud at these types of peoples.

Oh hai internets....is this thing on??
I can't believe the week of Christmas is over. I feel like I've been in some sort of a bubble for the last week. Time slowed down or something. Not in a bad way, like the end weeks of pregnancy or the wait for bad news; it just slowed down. I think is what happens when you spend a week mostly in your house. We had like nine zillion a million hundreds twelve people over for a few days. But trust me, there were moments when it seemed like more. For instance when one wanted a hot shower, or a moment of quiet. I considered taking my laptop into my closet for awhile, but I didn't. One thing I've learned this year is that hiding out isn't worth it. It's nice in the moment, but it causes issues and I'm done with causing issues for no good reason.
So basically I've ignored the world for the last week. I have...well a lot of posts in my reader, a bunch of emails to respond too and I haven't even looked at Twitter in days.
In short, because I'm too tired to write much today, here are the highlights of my past week:
-I played my best Wii golf game ever. I golfed a +1 yesterday, which is great since my best score previously was a +12. I have no idea if it's good or not, but it seemed like an improvement. The Wii by the way, greatest invention in the past five years, hands down.
-I woke up on Friday to my brother sleeping on the kitchen floor with the dog. He had his clothes and shoes on and was using his coat as a blanket. I guess after he'd come home from a friends house, couldn't remember where he was sleeping and there seemed to be people on every surface, so he forced the dog to sleep with him, for warmth. Yes, I do have it on camera.
-On Christmas the dog jumped at the table. There was a roast, some ham, a bunch of other things. She went for the stick of butter. My dog is a butter eater. I guess that is what smelled the best too her.
-Logan got his snowboard, I got a new wallet I wanted, Harrison got a wooden rocking horse and the girls got roller blades and guitars for Christmas. But I also got tickets to BlogHer09 which makes me so happy. Anyone want to share a room?
What was your highlight?

Random thoughts #3, these could have been Tweets addition
Do you every find yourself watching commercials and thinking to yourself, man I could really use a ShamWow? Yeah, me neither.
My Christmas tree doesn't smell like a Christmas tree. Isn't that the whole point of having a live tree? I got jipped.
I am not a cold weather person. I have been cold for five days straight. I could never live in Alaska or Canada or those places where it is cold all dang year.
My friend Mo, over at One Ping Only is doing a big holiday giveaway. Basically for each comment she gets, she is giving a dollar to a great charity. Please go over HERE and let her know you stopped by. There is also a chance to win a Starbucks gift card.
Morgan has been on Adderall for a week now. I'm noticing less bouncing, more concentration and the ability to finish a thought. Side effect wise, she's a bit more emotional. We'll see.
Logan and I are going to have a date night this weekend. We need movie ideas. Neither of us know what has been out, in say the last ten months. Any ideas? Please don't say Twilight.
Thursday is the great Bloggy holiday card exchange of 2008. Want more info? Go visit Meghan and get all the details. Basically a bunch of us will be posting our holiday cards on the same day. Easier and cheaper than trying to send them to each other. Everyone is welcome.

Friday Facts, take three
You all love bullet point posts right? Oh you know you do.
- Last night, sleeping was just not going to happen in my house. I had a few nightmares about crazy serial killers. I really shouldn't watch CSI before I go to bed. Did you see that? Freak man got in my head. It was not a good thing. Morgan I think has an ear infection, possibly a sinus infection. She woke up three times to tell me that her ear still hurt. I get it, I do, but there is nothing I didn't understand about it the first time she woke me up. (As an aside here, when kids just stand there all crazy and don't speak at 1am, don't they freak you out too?) Bailey has night terrors. We dealt with this before with Morgan, but she was about two when it was happening. Bailey's come and go, but still a thrashing screaming four year old is never a fun thing. At 2am, it's even worse. Harrison is teething. Oh the joys. Some nights he sleeps like a tiny angel, others he's up every hour or so. Lets just say, no one slept well in our house last night.
- It has been brought to my attention that we are supposed to have a real blizzard this weekend. We're supposed to get like
ten feetOK five feetalright at least a foot of snow on Saturday night. We're heading up into the mountains this weekend to take advantage of the fresh snow. I say this, knowing that I truly don't care about the snow. My husband and kids do though. I'm taking Morgan to the doctor today, because if she's got an ear infection, I want to be prepared with drops and antibiotics just in case. Because she'll lie and say she's fine, just to get to snowboard and then we'll have to deal with some strange illness that it will become. Like Bubonic Plague. Gotta love kids. Anyway, I'll be hanging out, reading books, drinking hot chocolate and chillin with my baby in front of the fire all weekend. You know, it's actually not sounding so bad after all.
- Yesterday, I was accepted by BlogHer ads. So in a few days, I'll have some ads on my side bar. I am very excited about it. Makes me feel like a real grown up blogger.
- I love Google searches. I love seeing how people find my site. I get some real weird ones sometimes. Here's a few for your enjoyment:
- Random Wedding Facts (Weddings are expensive and crazy. Please elope. especially if you want me to be a bridesmaid. That's my fact for you.)
- Issa is crazy, right? (Um yeah, duh. Glad you finally caught on. Title isn't Issa's Sane World, is it now?)
- Ate a Volkswagen. (There is so many things wrong with this. Really though I just want to know if someone caught it on tape. I kinda want proof.)
- Just don't understand women. (Dude, get in line. I say just get over it. I'm a women and I barely understand women.)

Three things..
1. I am in a lurking mood today. I am in a read from my reader kind of mood today. Don't worry, I'm sure I'll be back to stalking all of you tomorrow.
2. I have decided that birth announcement cards for a third child, are highly overrated. There is just about no way that I'm going to get this done. I mean really, the boy is already two and a half months old. Maybe I'll send them out for his first birthday. I had Christmas pictures done last week and that was torture enough.
3. Yesterday was not a blizzard. I lost. I have already purchased said snowboard and hidden it. (He doesn't read my site, unless I read it too him, so I'm safe.) Thanks to all of you who were on my side.

How to tell if there is a blizzard, by Issa and Logan:
Issa:
There is snow.
It doesn't melt when it hits the ground.
Any snow accumulation over say three inches.
It looks all snowy and cold and icy from my window.
They spray the streets with some sort of no-stick stuff, but you still slide around.
It takes me an extra twenty minutes to get the girls to school to Starbucks in the morning.
I have to wear gloves and a hat.
Logan:
Last night there was not a blizzard.
You can't see because the snow is blowing so hard.
More than a foot of snow.
If you leave your house you can die.
We haven't had a blizzard yet this year.
In a REAL blizzard, school will be closed.
8 inches of snow does not mean it is a blizzard.
A blizzard is where snow and wind and something about temps begin low and blah, blah, blah. I am wrong and my wife is right. (I might have paraphrased this last one.)
Here's the thing, I am from Los Angeles. I was raised in West LA. My dad started teaching me how to surf at 4 years old. The beach was my playground. I only owned flip-flops and dress up shoes until I went to school and then was occasionally forced to wear real shoes. Every time I talk to someone and I tell them there is a blizzard, Logan has a fit at me. It's not a blizzard, it's barely snowing, he says. To me, the chick who saw snow maybe three times before I was ten years old; any amount of snow, seems like a blizzard. So we go back and forth on it. In the end we decided that he's a loser we just have to disagree on this one. He ignores me telling people that it's a blizzard and I ignore him teaching our kids about snow. I guess now that we live here, they should know about snow. Love the snow even. Me, I'll stay all nice and toasty in my house and ignore the blizzard.
UPDATE: It's on now. Logan has issued a public plee (through me, since lame boy can't type) to win. If you all think he is right, I have to buy him some new snowboard he wants. If I win, I get to go too BlogHer09 without listening to him whine about how hard four days with the kids will be. (Either way, I think I'm going, I asked Santa for the ticket, it's just how annoying he's gonna be about it.)
What do you think?
ISSA: 5 points
LOGAN: 12 points (including Mr. Big Dubya who just told me something on Twitter about 10 feet of snow and walking both ways to school uphill with no shoes. Or he said that I'm a bit mistaken. Whichever.) Also including my freaking parents and his parents. My mom is so not getting a gift now. :)

Do you hear that?
That noise, or lack of noise? It's the sound of silence.
I am loving the sound of silence this morning. Don't get me wrong, I completely enjoyed the sound of noise in my house. The constant chatter, the jokes, the laughter, even the tantrums by my four year old. Oh wait, I could have done without those. Either way though, it was a great holiday weekend.
Today is Monday. My house is empty; guests have all gone home, my husband went back to work and the girls are at school. I even dropped the dog off to get groomed. It's just me and my tiny sleeping son.
Silence. Oh how I love the silence.
I should clean my house, wrap the presents that I bought or work on my writing. Instead, I'm going to sit and enjoy the silence for a bit.
How was your holiday weekend?
