You may have heard that Denver is having a bit of a snow storm right now. I mean, it may have been on the news. Since you know, the airport, the highway and all of the schools are closed. Basically today everything was closed. Everything, like the schools. Can I say that again, they closed school. You know what that means right? That the kids were home all day long.
I was laughing when hey closed school, because we haven't had much snow in months and it was barely snowing this morning. The snow wasn't even sticking when they announced the closures. I thought it was the dumbest thing I'd heard. Canceling school in case something happens? WHo does that? What kind of place did I move too?
Yeah, I was wrong. By 1pm we had a foot of snow. We are expected to have two by morning. Lovely weather people, I apologize for laughing at you. I have learned my lesson. Next time you say feet and snow in the same sentence, I will makes sure to buy wine right away.
I thought I'd show you the difference between Sunday and today. So you can have a nice visual.
SUNDAY:
TODAY:
Mind you, these pictures were taken at 2pm. We have a ton more snow now. Send help if you don't hear from me by Monday, okay?

ACK! That sucks! :(
Hey, at least.. On the bright side... You had flowers last Sunday, which we STILL haven't gotten any of... So you're ahead of us even with the snow storm. And I bet it will all be gone by the end of the weekend... At least, I hope, for your sake, that it is.
I'm glad it's not us. I'm so DONE with snow for the year. heh.
Yowza! That is some storm. I always feel so sorry for the little critters and plants that think winter is gone and then, whamo!, it's back.
Oh my goodness...we are SO spoiled out here in CA. It's 72 and sunny today. Sorry...especially about school being closed. My kids would love that. The closest we came was when the power went out during a particularly windy storm in January. Unfortunately for them, it came back on in about an hour - and school was back in session.
BTW... 4-H is a club that kids between 5 and 18 years old can join, and they can do project ranging from animal raising, photography, cooking, etc. Almost anything can become a project. The kids meet once a month for each project and keep records of what they do throughout the year. Then write about it in a record book at the end of the year, which is judged - they earn pins for their hats. It's a LOT of fun.
It's funny because when I woke up, the snow was pounding already. We were hit the entire day. I was excited for the moisture. We are super lazy about watering, LOL!
I remember being a child and LOVING snow days!! But now from a mom's perspective, I'm thinking you're right--snow days equals WINE. :-)
Nuts. Keep it down there where you are okay. Because I will go stark raving mad if we have any more snow this spring!
The weather has been SO weird lately!
I hope all the snow is gone for you soon...but if not, hey, it's probably not snowing in Hawaii anyway, right?
Ahhhh! That stinks!
